Dome The BST dome structure requires around 30-40% less materials to enclose the same amount of space as compared with the standard square box building. This saves natural resources and energy in production. A dome structure also requires less energy to heat and cool and lends itself readily to different types cooling and heating sources. Aesthetically the dome can be used in a decorative way to add design to a structure (see pictures below). In addition the dome does have unique advantages in providing a feeling of openness and spaciousness inside. Gone are the feelings of being "closed in" that can come from the standard square box or closed off structures that most people are used to.
